My first Airbnb Experience

It was my first Airbnb experience, It’s not that I had not considered Airbnb in my previous travels just that most of my travels used to be sudden unplanned weekend trips and Airbnb may be unavailable for those selected dates.

When I started planning for Singapore-Malaysia trip I explored so many hotels mostly the budget ones as you know how expensive Singapore can get. I realized a budget hotel in Singapore was not a good option that’s when I decided to give Airbnb a chance.

Location was my first preference. I browsed through the results and shortlisted few and finally selected Goh’s(host) place.

On The Day

I was aware I shouldn’t be expecting any luxury(maybe if you’re paying like $150 per day) and I will be leaving in someone else’s home and should leave by their rules. I have to admit I was a little worried and nervous about my stay

The booking was instant and when the travel dates were nearing Goh sent me precise details on how to reach and some screenshots to instantly recognize the apartment.

I reached Singapore around 5 am and spent some time exploring Changi Airport which I highly recommend, who don’t want to know what the world’s best airport has to offer. It was around 9 am when I reached Goh’s place.

Goh had already dropped me a message saying I can check-in to my room and she had left the door open. I met Goh later that evenings and she was really a sweet person.

Apartment building

Goh stays with her brother, it’s a three-bedroom apartment and they rent out a room. It’s a shared bathroom, but not even once I had to wait to use the bathroom. The room was good enough for one person, was spacious and clean.

As most reviews indicated the apartment was in great location. It’s on the Orchard Road close to Fort Canning National Park and Clarks Quay. It was so convenient to reach places, the metro station was around 5 mins walk and the bus stop was just outside the apartment.

Goh was a friendly host. She made sure I felt accommodated and comfortable she gave few tips on site seeing and we also had great chit chats. There was always a coffee and tea in the kitchen and loved starting my tea with a nice cup of tea.

This was my first time trying the flavored tea, and I loved it. Chamomile and Peach were my favorites and I have already ordered them on amazon :D. What’s your favorite and suggestions let me know in the comment section.

Though this was my first Airbnb experience it was much better than what I had expected and it always good to have a home away from home.

How was your first Airbnb experience? Let me know in the comment section.
